温かみのあるアコースティックサウンドとマグネティック・ピックアップサウンドの両方を併せ持つベース、ヘフナー 500/1 Violin Bass
1887年の創立以来、ヴァイオリンとギターの製作を行っているメーカーです。ヴァイオリンベースは1956年に発売され、ポール・マッカートニーを代表とする多くのミュージシャンに愛用されています。ボディ内部が空洞なホローボディ構造で、ボディの生鳴りでも楽しめるアコースティックベースの良さと、マグネティックピックアップサウンドの両方を併せ持ったベースで、このベースでしか出せない独特なコンプレッションが効いた様なサウンドが特徴です。各ピックアップのボリュームとオン/オフのスイッチに高音域がカットされたプリセットトーン・スイッチを搭載しています。ウムラウト無しのデカールロゴを再現した1990年代以降の個体で、自身も30年ほど経年し、本体そのものが鳴りを高め、良質な木材の良さをサウンドに反映させ、豊潤なヴィンテージサウンドへと昇華しています。
