1965 Hofner 500/1 Violin "Beatle Bass". This is the real deal, not a reissue. Sounds and plays fantastic.Currently strung with flatwounds. Violin-burst finish with checking typical of a 50 year-old instrument. One 3/4" spot of finish "wear-through" near neck pickup. Some joinery "lipping" at heel and along length of neck seams. All structurally sound. "Staple-type" pickups. Bound fingerboard. 3-D logo missing a small piece of the "H". Must be seen/played to appreciate this piece of history.Comes with reissue Hofner case.
