1961 Hofner Cavern Bass Sunburst
1961 Hofner 500/1 Cavern bass in great condition. Beloved by players for its unique sound and most commonly associated with Paul McCartney of the Beatles, the Hofner 500/1 has been a staple in popular music since the late-1950s. Fully hollow with maple back and sides, a spruce top, a 3-piece maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and ebony bridge, this particular example is all original with the only history of repair work being the all too common re-glued heel. Neck is 1.56" wide at the nut, neck profile is 0.87" at the 1st fret, 1.00" at the 12th fret. Weight is 4.58 lbs. Comes with original hardshell case, strap, and directions for fitting the strap.
