Description

Summary: The RG565 is an RG Series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1991. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. This particular instrument has a red finish with a matching headstock & red dot inlays. This old Ibanez has lots of wear & you can tell this baby was played a lot, but it still sounds & plays great.

Body: Solid basswood body, double cutaway electric guitar.

Neck: Maple neck with a maple fingerboard & red dot inlays, 24 jumbo frets, Gotoh tuning keys. The fingerboard shows lots of wear but the jumbo frets are still in good shape & have a ton of life left in them.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 replacement pickups – one Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge & a dual rail humbucker in the neck position. 3 way switch, volume knob, tone knob. Licensed Floyd Rose Tremolo, black & chrome hardware, Gotoh tuning machines.

Cosmetics: This old Ibanez shows a lot of wear – the fingerboard looks dirty & worn but it still feels great. There are various dings & nicks on the body – especially around the edges of the instrument. There is buckle rash on the back with more dings & dents. The back-plate is heavily pitted & it is hard to read the Ibanez logo but it is still there. There are some signs of checking in the finish with stress marks near the neck pocket. This instrument shows a ton of wear but it is structurally sound & it plays and sounds great.

Playability: We set this instrument up with a new set of 10’s and it plays great up & down the fingerboard. The action is low & this is a fast playing neck. This guitar has the original tremolo arm but it doesn’t really stay locked in very well – it is useable but it comes out very easily.

Modifications: The pickups have been replaced & the locking nuts at the top have also been replaced.

Weight: 7 lbs, 5 oz.

Case: Hardshell Ibanez case with black tolex & black padded interior.
