Freshly set up in-house by our esteemed Guitar Tech, this 1930s Le Domino is ready to go. Le Domino guitars were produced by the J.R. Stewart company in Chicago in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Later in the 1930s, Regal began building the Le Domino models. This particular guitar was made by J.R. Stewart before Regal took over production.
The graphics of the guitar are simple but captivating, from the script "Le Domino" on the headstock, to the Domino images circling the rosette, the Domino fingerboard markers, and the group of Dominos laid below the bridge. If you count the dots for each set of Dominos on the fingerboard you'll find they add up to the fret being marked. Very cool.
This Le Domino is in Very Good vintage condition with normal cosmetic wear and tear, including scratches, dings, nicks, and general aging of the hardware, finish, and graphics. After some quality restoration work by the master luthiers at Portland Fretworks, including a neck reset and a complete re-fret with medium-sized frets, the guitar is structurally sound and playing just as it should with a lovely vintage voice. The wide fingerboard makes this guitar a joy to play in country blues fingerstyle fashion, but it also responds well to a pick. Comes with a non-original soft shell case. NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
