John Markert was a Violin Maker in NYC in the early 1900's. There isn't much information about his shop on line, so hopefully the label can give some insight as to when this was made.
The instrument came into us with a Top Crack and in need of a Bridge. We repaired the Top Crack and Cut a New Bridge with a Compensated G String. The instrument plays beautifully across the register. If you love older hand made American Instruments this is a very affordable piece for your collection.
