SOLD!
Who buys vintage guitars? We do!
Call 530-570-1525 or email sales@maharsvintageguitars.com to sell your vintage guitar, bass, amplifier, etc - one piece or a collection! We are always ready to buy instruments, amps and effects from Fender, Gibson, Martin, Epiphone, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Marshall, Vox and just about anything else related to musical instruments.
An excellent example of the Kay Thin Twin that plays better than most, having a nearly perfect neck angle.
The frets were changed somewhere down the line, and they're in great shape with a fresh fret polish- they'll be playable for quite some time without needing work or replacement.
The guitar is pictured with one changed tuner, but we have the original, which just needs a new button on it. The others will eventually need to be replaced, but they're solid for now. A few of the tuner mounting screws have been changed.
The potentiometers date to 1955, so my guess is that the guitar was made in 1955 or 56. Everything under the hood is original - solders, pots, pickups, etc. There are no other repairs, issues or changes to the guitar.
This guitar is owned by our friend Greg Loiacano, guitarist, singer and songwriter in The Mother Hips.
The band got their start in the early 90s here in Chico, CA Watching the band move from backyard parties to clubs and beyond was a fun ride for us here in Chico. The fact that they're still playing all over the West Coast and elsewhere is even better. Each show is a reunion of sorts.
The original case is included. It has been recovered in red tolex.
