This little gem is a rare Kay “Terz” guitar. 20.8” Scale Length. 1 11/16th nut width. Large rounded neck profile is full in the hand & compensates for the lack of an adjustable truss rod. Single line shaft thru Kluson Deluxe tuners with fresh replaced buttons put this one at mid 1950’s. Unique fretboard is ¼ inch thick, & is of an unknown wood. Attractive Mahogany grain back & sides.
11” Lower Bout, 8” Upper Bout, 15 5/8 Body Length. 3 ½” thick at the lower bass bout.
The neck is missing the finish. The back shows a lot of wear to the finish which is probably a light sanding with a very rough sandpaper. Finish on the sides and top are untouched, and show considerable play wear. It’s probable a prior owner removed the neck finish, started to sand the back, and mercifully stopped. Overall, with its aged top & side finish, the back and neck blend in with the “Relic” appearance of the guitar.
Back of the bridge is pulling up slightly, but the front is solid to the top. Saddle looks original. A cool little hard to find instrument at an affordable price. No case, but well packed for shipping.
