Summary: Made by master builder Kevin Heffernan of Center Stage Vintage Guitars in Indiana- this monster is one of the most unique guitars we have seen with its combination of vintage parts from old cars, vintage equipment, leather and even a built in ignition with key that works as a kill switch. This beast is going to turn some heads and possibly summon the top-hat-wearing, monocle sporting player in all of us. Make no mistake, it’s not all looks with this axe, it is also a great player with a chunky, highly flamed maple neck with super cool arrow carving on the volute! All high quality components, real vintage trappings and unparalleled charisma, it has just been setup and restrung with a new set of 10s and it ships in a hard-shell case.
Body: Alder body finished in black wrinkle paint and appointed with various artifacts - some vintage - all unique; leather, metal, steam punk and rather terrifyingly cool. There is a metal route 66 sign as the pickguard, a kill switch ignition and key, G.E. badge, old meter, glass ball and more. The most notable artifact is a big V8 hood ornament with red pearlescent eye.
Neck: Highly flamed maple neck with arrow carving on the volute, nice honey burst finish, rosewood fingerboard (possibly bubinga), abalone dot inlays, 25 ½” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: Humbucker in the bridge, single coil in the neck position, vintage Danelectro/Silvertone stacked volume and tone pot, 3 way switch and kill switch ignition and key. It has Sperzel locking tuners and a black Stratocaster style synchronized trem.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent shape with no notable cosmetic issues. It has no breaks, cracks or visible repairs.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
