This late 1970s Kramer DMZ bass (serial number 06286) has a fairly worn natural amber finish and a basic look in contrast to its versatile and functional sound. This one has sustain for days and a solid tone. The pickup has been replaced with a DiMarzio Split Rail pickup that sounds nice and growly. It features the aluminum neck with maple inserts and a maple body. Major neck features include an Ebonol fretboard, 20 frets with a 34” scale, and a zero fret. The neck plays and feels like gold! Cosmetically there is some finish pitting and wear on the front as well as on the back with a large blemish spot dead center. There is a split developing at the heel near the neck pocket that is not currently affecting the playability but could be an issue in the near future. The back of the neck has a bit of playwear and there is a finish crack above the output jack. Because of these issues we have priced the instrument accordingly. However it’s those terrific sounding Dimarzio pick-ups in the middle and active EQ that really define the tone of this bass, making it a must have for your vintage Kramer collection. Pots have been changed so we were unable to narrow down a year on this bass. Does not include a case.
