Summary: The LH-309 archtop is the perfect blend of vintage vibe and modern value. The LH-309's top is hand-carved and hand-graduated solid Spruce. The Loar have carefully placed their own P-90 pickup in the perfect spot for optimal tone. The classic high output and articulate treble response of the P-90 is the ideal complement to the spruce top and maple back and sides, excellent for either rhythm or lead playing.
Body: Hollowbody with a solid spruce top & maple back & sides. This instrument measures 16” wide at the lower bout, 11.5” at the upper bout, 3.75” deep.
Neck: Mahogany neck with a vintage “V” profile, bound rosewood fingerboard, 19 frets, dot inlays, vintage style tuning keys, 24.75” scale length, 1.75” nut width,
Pickups/Hardware: 1 single P90 pickup, one volume knob, one tone knob, old school vintage style tuning keys, black knobs, ebony floating bridge, chrome hardware, trapeze tailpiece
Cosmetics: This instrument looks like an old school Gibson! There are a few signs of wear such as pick scratches on the top & a few minor dings on the body but overall it cleans up great & its in pretty good shape.
Playability: This Loar hollowbody guitar plays great! If you like a chunky “V” neck then you will absolutely love this one. We put a new set of D’Addario Chromes 11 gauge flatwound strings on it & set it up with low action – it plays smoothly & easily up & down the fingerboard.
