Pickups/Hardware: Metallica and EMG have both individually and collectively helped define the modern sound of heavy metal guitar. When James got together with EMG to design his signature set of pickups they set out to create a pair of active humbuckers that offered the output and clarity of the 85 and 81 pair Hetfield had been using for decades, but with the nuance, punch, and dynamics of a great set of passive pickups. The JH pickup set uses oversized ceramic and steel pole pieces to give your LTD Snakebyte that exact combination for a powerful rock sound. This instrument also has a 3-way switch & one master volume & one master tone knob, black hardware, black ESP locking tuning keys, black plastic truss rod cover, fancy pearloid dot inlays & a custom “SnakeByte”
inlay on the ebony fingerboard.

Cosmetics: This instrument doesn’t show a lot of wear – the beautiful white finish is glossy & it looks even better up close & personal but you will find a few small scratches on the back & one ding near the input jack. There is also the beginnings of finish checking right around the treble side of the neck pocket but it is structurally sound. This guitar still has the plastic on the black back plates!

Playability: This LTD plays great – we set it up with a new set of 10’s and the action is low & the guitar plays great up & down the ebony fingerboard.
