The 0-size body, slotted head, and 12F joint were named New Yorker style after the time when Martin started making guitars in New York.
The top brace is thin and does not interfere with the vibration of the board, resulting in a rich midrange that is impressive for the size of the body.

Rosewood fingerboard and Brazilian rosewood rectangular bridge despite being made in 1971
Slightly wider 47mm neck is made for fingerpicking.
As a benefit of the 12F joint, the neck goes deeper into the body compared to the 14F, so the lows have a greater output.
