Description

The Size 7 Martin guitars, made only from 1980-1987, were the brainchild of Dick Boak, Martin’s official Collator Of All Information Martin, Martin Museum creator and director, draftsman, historian, creator of the Artist Model Program and one heck of a lot more, and John Arndt, who rose at Martin from line worker to foreman to production manager. Both had forty-plus-year careers at Martin and were absolutely tops at what they did. The number ”7” in the model name was chosen to represent the fact that these guitars were exactly 7/8-size versions, in every way, of the classic 14-fret Martin Dreadnoughts. The 7-37K was at the top of the list, with beautifully flamed koa back and sides, extra-select finely-grained spruce top, 45-style abalone soundhole rosette, and lovely, understated abalone fingerboard inlays based on a Martin design going back to 1900. With its appropriately-sized 1-5/8” nut width, this guitar is perfectly balanced in every way. The tones are bright and clear, as only koa can provide, and the action and overall feel are absolutely prime. Condition is near-mint, having been bought by Jay Griffith, Martin’s International Sales Manager, as a gift for his daughter, put away and rarely if ever played. Included are its original un-filled out, serial-numbered warranty papers and original “Care and Feeding Of Your Martin Guitar” booklet. You will not find another like this available anywhere. Comes with with its original Martin hard shell case. $2995 w/ohsc
