This gorgeous Custom Shop Martin D-14F isn't just a pretty face, it sounds amazing as well!
The guitar came in without a lot of information - the neck block just says Custom Shop, and the original hang tag has a sort of cryptic model number, so we called Martin to get the full specs.
The top is beautifully grained Adirondack Spruce. Our interior pics show that it is scallop braced. The top pairs with a gorgeous, solid back of wild grain East Indian rosewood that resembles the Brazilian wood you see on guitars from the late 60s and earlier. It does seem that the back has tonal character similar to Brazilian.
The instrument hasn't been played all that much. The original owner traded it in in favor of a guitar with a 1 11/16" nut, which was fine with me as more of my customers seem to gravitate to the 1 3/4" nut present on this guitar.
There is very light fretwear and little evidence that the guitar has been played all that much. There are no dings on the end of the headstock or pick swirl on the pickguard for instance, the first places you might expect to see some honest wear.
The neck is perfect, the action is too. The saddle is tall and there is room for future neck relief adjustments.
The LR Baggs Anthem pickup system was added by the original owner - it was professionally installed and it sounds fantastic.
The case is Martin's highest quality, arched top case.

There are two shipping cost options for purchases made on our site for these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas. Select Standard shipping at checkout and your item will be shipped via UPS three-day-air. Select Economy shipping and your item will ship via UPS ground. For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for these Eastern states and shipment will be made by UPS three-day-air. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.

Returns accepted if the purchaser responds within 48 hours of receipt of an item and there is a discrepancy relating to the condition or originality of an item.
