This is a 1999 Martin Custom D-28 with the enlarged sound hole as found on the Tony Rice D-28 that was previously owned and played by Clarence White. It has an Adirondack top with Mahogany back and sides , this all solid wood beauty has low action and plays like butter. It puts out the unmistakable Martin D-28 sound that can be smooth and buttery to very aggressive as needed in up tempo Bluegrass songs… nearly 22 years old and sounding better every time it’s played as the wood continues to open up.

As seen in the photos a K&K pickup system was installed by the previous owner. I also have a Sunset pickup with preamp that we could discuss, it is the same system used by The Rolling Stones and Emmy Lou Harris.
