1973 Martin D-28S Slotted Headstock 12-fret!!
Nice player-grade 1973 Martin D-28S. This guitar is the much rarer 12-fret slotted headstock D28. The guitar features a Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back/sides. This is a good-playing guitar. It does have some issues that are solid for the most part.
The action is decent at about 6.5/64" low E at 12th, and just under 5/64" high E at 12th fret. The saddle is fairly low with only slight room to lower. The bridge is coming up a bit as shown and should be reglued. The guitar also has several cracks that were repaired and seem stable. Classic pickguard crack and pickguard replacement. One crack on treble side below the bridge. Two short cracks (or possibly just through the surface) on the back. All issues are photographed so please look at them.
The guitar overall is in player-grade but is a pretty nice solid model. Comes with original hardshell case in working but beat-up condition. It features the original Grover tuners. Less common model that is a refreshing D-28 with some great specs.
