In the 1960s, export restrictions on Brazilian rosewood made it difficult to obtain two-piece backs for Doretto models.
Therefore, a three-piece back model was developed that could be made without large pieces of wood, and the Martin D-35 was introduced in 1965.
The D-35 is known overseas as the favorite of the famous guitarist Rory Gallagher, and in Japan as the favorite of Takuro Yoshida, Kenji Endo, Tadahide Yoshikawa, and Iruka.
The three-piece back gives the guitar a moderately controlled sound and is said to be a favorite of professionals.
*The guitar was designed by Bob Johnson of Martin's computer department, who was an amateur at making guitars. He was an amateur at making guitars, so at first he was vehemently opposed to the idea, but when he tried it, the sound was so great that it was adopted.

The sound impression is not the tightness of the D-35, but rather a deep low-end similar to that of the D-28.
It is difficult to add low end where it is not present at the wreck stage, but it is easy to reduce the low end where it is present, so having this much low end will be useful later on.
The Fishman preamp is also included, so it will work well in a live setting.
