The Mesa Boogie SOB Son of Boogie is a simplification of the quickly evolving Mark series circuit.
It delivers 60 watts of power and offers a huge, bold clean sound or you can ride it up into high gain mode and govern your overdrive with your guitar's volume control. The Limiter knob works like an attenuator, so you can get searing distortion at low volumes.
What I like about this model is the simplicity. Look at the internal chassis pics. This is an amp that can be serviced without having to send it back to Boogie. The Mark series amps get so tight inside the chassis that most techs won't touch them. The simplicity seems to lend itself to great tone as well, which is true for amps from most makers.
The amp is all original and even sports mostly original tubes, which are American and German made by Sylvania and Amperex.
We will ship the amp in three boxes. This is because the weight of the speaker and the transformers could cause damage to the baffle and/or the chassis if it is dropped in shipping, which of course is very likely to happen. Assembly is simple, and this is a measure every seller should take when shipping a beefy-built amp like this.
