DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a cool and quite rare 1966-1968 Mosrite Joe Maphis Mark XII 12 string electric guitar in its original natural blond finish. There is a lot of confusion as to the exact title for this model, I’ve heard it called a Joe Maphis, a Combo and a Mark XII. This particular example has to be one of the absolute best playing / sounding 12 string electrics we’ve had in the shop recently. Both the Mosrite pickups are nice and punchy and provide a nice sparkle in the bridge and warm tone in the neck positions. This example is fairly original and overall quite clean with any replaced parts being replaced with era correct Mosrite parts. The pickups, knobs, truss rod cover and bridge are all vintage 1960s Mosrite parts, just not original to the guitar. The tuners are modern repros and the guitar has been professionally refretted. All other parts are original. Overall this one plays and sounds wonderful and comes complete with a well worn / slightly falling apart but original case.
