Summary: The National Estralita Harlem Slim Resonator Guitar is custom built to the exact specifications of Delta Blues player Harlem Slim. With less weight and a warmer tone than a metal-bodied resonator, this National is a great choice for player looking for a gig-worthy guitar to add variety to their arsenal.
Body: sunburst satin finish, laminated maple top with segmented f-holes, laminated maple back and sides, 14-1/4″ lower bout, ~3-1/8″ body depth.
Neck: Thick 12-fret round maple neck with slotted headstock. 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with large ivoroid dot inlays. 1-13/16″ nut width. 25.4″ scale.
Pickups/Hardware: Biscuit bridge with 9-1/2″ cone. Ribbed sieve coverplate, no soundwell, stamped tailpiece. 3-on-a-plate NRP open back tuners.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. The satin finish has little playwear apart from some light scratches on the back and a fingernail-sized spot on the bottom edge of the top where the finish has chipped. There is slight tarnishing to the bridge cover. Frets are full and have plenty of life left.
Playability: The action is comfortable and set reasonably low for a resonator. The thick vintage neck profile generates increased volume, expanded tonal range, and additional sustain. The wood body with its thinner width and rolled edges is very comfortable to hold.
Weight: 6 lbs, 13 oz.
Case: Hard shell case.
