For your consideration a 1930 Oscar Schmidt Parlor Acoustic in a natural finish. What a cool pick guard! These old Oscar Schmidt instruments are just such a cool part of America guitar history! Big V neck. The spruce top has aged wonderfully and produces a beautiful crisp tone perfect for blues. Very cool vintage parlor!

Specs! This guitar has had a neck reset. Ladder braced. Nickel three plate tuners. Nut width measures 1-7/8″. Maple neck with a depth of .85″ at the first fret and 1.15″ at the twelfth fret. Black painted maple fingerboard with a flat radius. It has a 24.75″ scale length. The original 18 small frets are in ok condition. Spruce top with birch back and sides. Rope rosette and top purfling. Likely maple bridge painted black, at one point it was lowered and repainted. Non-original bridge pins and end pins. Typical player wear on fingerboard as well as the body. Decent wear on headstock. Comes with a non-original soft shell case. Weighs 3 pounds and 2 ounces.

History! In 1871 Oscar & Otto Schmidt started selling musical instruments, applying for dozens of patents for musical instruments and related equipment. Initially their bread winner was buying and selling Guitar Zithers. After a series of partnerships Oscar would end up buying out the company they had built Menzenhauer & Schmidt. It wouldn’t be until 1911 that the Oscar Schmidt Company would be up and running. At one point the factory had over 150 employees and Oscar had several distributers over seas in Europe, South Africa and Australia.
