Those who monitor our inventory know how fond we are of these guitars and we've purchased and sold dozens of these fine and very unique instruments over the years. With their unique design elements, high tech materials and exotic electronics, there is really no other instrument quite like a Parker guitar. With manufacturing having been discontinued for several years now, the collectibility of these guitars continues to increase.
Offered here is a superb "pre-refined" era Parker Fly Classic in Natural Mahogany finish. Built in 2000 before Ken Parker sold the company, this guitar has all of the early and revolutionary design elements that Ken envisioned for the Fly. Such early models can be easily identified of course by the exposed balance wheel and four button controls, features which were eliminated in later versions in an effort to simplify and control manufacturing costs. Most folks agree that these pre-2003 guitars, built while Ken still owned the company, are the best Parkers that were ever produced.
This 2000 Classic has a mahogany body and a basswood neck. It has a transparent natural finish on top and a solid black finish on the back and neck. The electronics include DiMarzio humbuckers and a Fishman piezo systyem and the original factory wiring has not been altered. It has the original Fly features, including the aforementioned face-mounted balance wheel, four-button control layout, the push-button piezo/stereo activation switch, etc. It weighs less than 5.0 pounds and plays like butter. It sounds great too, as evidenced by the provided sound sample.
Despite being nearly nearly 22 years old, this guitar remains in fabulous condition with no flaws of any significance. The stainless steel frets remain in near flawless condition as well. It comes in it's original Parker-branded molded hardshell case, along with the trem arm, adjustment wrenches, a .10 gauge trem spring and the Parker booklet.
Whether you are a collector or a player, this is a guitar well worth your consideration and you are not likely to find another "pre-refined" era Fly in such nice original condition. If you have been thinking about getting yourself a really nice Parker guitar for your collection, time is wasting. Make this beauty yours today!
