Offered here is another fabulous PRS Modern Eagle, one of the finest solid body guitar PRS has ever produced this side of one of their far more expensive Private Stock Models. This example was built in 2005. As of this writing, we also have another first edition Modern Eagle for sale; with a natural finish and wrap-around tailpiece.
This original Modern Eagle has a carved and highly figured maple top matched to a mahogany back. Both the 22-fret neck and fingerboard are both made of Brazilian Rosewood. The neck has a 10” radius with ripple Abalone bird inlays. The headstock overlay is also Brazilian Rosewood with an inlaid Modern Eagle logo. It has an ultra-thin satin nitro-cellulose finish. This model was offered in a very limited selection of colors; this is "Tiger Red." The electronics include PRS Modern Eagle “RP” pickups with volume, tone (with push/pull coil split) and a three-way toggle. This beauty comes with a tremolo bridge with hybrid finish hardware. This fabulous electric has a total weight of just 8 pounds, 12 ounces and is superbly balanced, sitting or strung.
Few solid body guitars speak to me like these from the original ME run. The premium woods and the satin finish give this guitar the look and feel of a well-preserved vintage instrument. It is lively and resonant, even as PRS guitars go and it nearly plays itself. The tone is like that of an old LP to my ears; just check out the brief sound sample included.
This guitar has seen a bit of play and shows a few very minor cosmetic flaws as shown in our photos. These small issues aside, this guitar is in great condition and the frets show little wear. It comes in its original suede leather case, along with trem arm and the original paperwork.
If you are looking for an ultra-high quality solid body humbucking guitar, you would have to spend far more to get a better instrument. Make this incredible PRS yours today!
