Offered for sale:
Used 1980 Peavey T-40 Bass Guitar serial number 00620442.
This bass is in excellent condition, neck and frets are fine, cosmetically showing playing time without abuse.
Peavey was one of the early companies to utilize CNC routing machines and pre-stressed necks along with additional manufacturing innovations.
This bass guitar features a solid ash body, bi-laminated hard rock maple neck with maple fingerboard.
Equipped with a set of “Toaster Style” Red Rhodes Designed Blade Humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Controlled by 2-volume, 2-tone knobs, a 2-way toggle phase switch and a 3-way toggle selector switch.
Here’s where it gets cool. The tone control for each pickup is dual function. On 7 it’s like a normal control on 10. Roll it back to 1 and it rolls off the treble, as expected. But when you roll it from 7 to 10 and it rolls off one coil turning the humbucker to a single coil.
The 34” scale length neck has black dot inlays and 20 jumbo frets with a D neck profile. The hardware consists of chrome peavey open gear tuning machines, a metal nut, a peavey die-cast string-thru hardtail bridge, and Peavey die-cast top hat knobs with the sharp “P” Logo and a 3-ply black/white pickguard. These early Peavey basses were not only innovative, flexible professional instruments, they were built to last and this one is proof.
This bass is in nice shape regardless of its age.
Original hard-shell case included.
“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
