The original partnership of Rudy Pensa of Rudy's Music in New York and luthier John Suhr resulted in the classic Mk1 design made famous by Mark Knopfler at the height of Dire Straits fame. Designed to solve Knoplfers desire for a single guitar for the stage to avoid switching between his Strat and Les Paul, the HSS configured EMG active pickups provide a huge array of great sounds. This newer Pensa model is still built in the USA to the same standard of quality. This incredible example features a single piece body with a heavily quilted maple figure.
