Offered for sale:
Used 2020 PRS 509 10-Top serial number 20 0306057.
This Charcoal Burst PRS is in excellent condition showing virtually no playing time.
As one of the most versatile guitars in the PRS lineup, the 509 harnesses the power of 5 pickups to deliver 9 uniquely musical tones. The 509 starts with a 5 single coil platform - with the outside four coils grouped as humbuckers. An innovative switching system (a 5-way blade switch and two mini toggle coil-tap switches), gives players an array of humbucking, singlecoil, and blended tones.
Unique appointments include a longer 25.25" scale length which adds upper harmonic sparkle and the PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen III which provides impressive sustain.
The 509 is one of the dark horses of PRS' venerable line of Core axes. Right off the bat, its pickup configuration immediately catches your eye as something drastically different than the usual PRS fare. Instead of the conventional 85/15 or 58/15 humbuckers, or even Narrowfields, the pickups here feature an all-black, futuristic-looking design exclusive to this axe - simply named the "509" pickups, as you may expect - that have a very distinct tonal character to match their unique looks.
The "humbuckers" in the neck and bridge aren't exactly your typical humbucker - they're actually individual single coils strategically positioned together (for five total pickups), and have the ability to put out both traditional mid-forward humbucker tone and true-single coil chime. Featuring both a 5-way switch and individual mini-toggles to switch the humbuckers to single-coil mode (again, not just coil-splits, but completely independent single-coil operation), there's no limit to the amount of tones this guitar can access.
Add this to the typical PRS core feature set - the awesome Gen III tremolo, Pattern Regular neck, and locking tuners - and you have one hell of a guitar. It also has a slightly longer 25.25" scale length, which gives it a bit more snap and response under the fingers.
The 509 combines the premium quality and distinct sound you expect from PRS with more options than we've ever seen on an electric guitar. Clear, balanced, and virtually limitless, the sounds that come out of this guitar make it easy to feel inspired, regardless of what style of music you're into.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
