PRS Collection Series Tonare Grand Acoustic Guitar
A spectacular, immaculate and exceedingly rare PRS Collection Series Tonare Grand Acoustic Guitar. Finding one of these instruments in the wild, much less in this condition, is truly a rare occurrence.
The PRS Collection Series first introduced in the Fall of 2011, represents the absolute best, rare-air, no holds barred instruments from PRS, even beyond the Private Stock models. These instruments are so rare that most musicians have never encountered one, much less played. One acoustic model and one electric were available each year, with Paul Reed Smith himself, personally overseeing their design and production. Each guitar was created from the most prized components in PRS's possession, including their most exotic tone woods. Many of the woods and design features such as the Celtic knot inlays that feature so prominently on this guitar are no longer available through PRS.
This Collection Series Tonare Grand guitar, serial number A12-0956, comes complete with straight grain, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, a European ‘AAAA’ bearclaw spruce top, a Peruvian mahogany neck, an African blackwood fingerboard with 14K gold and mammoth ivory Celtic inlays along with many other appointments that make this guitar an extraordinary sounding, easy playing, and exceedingly gorgeous instrument. Few collectable guitars can live the double life of being both remarkably rare while also being ideal performance instruments. That's part of what makes the PRS Collection Series in general and certainly this Tonare Grand guitar so special.
The Collection Series instruments from PRS couldn’t simply be ordered. Rather they were built and sold in pairs (one electric and one acoustic) to 20 exclusive Private Stock Collection dealers worldwide.
*Very Limited Edition, just several of these were made. This is likely the only one of these made with the particular materials and features specified in the build sheet below, in particular straight grained Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Everyone's best flat tops are rosewood with very few exceptions. This has to be the best sounding, most beautiful, and ultimate / rare PRS acoustic extant. We accept all major credit cards, as well as all of the other usual methods; cash, bank check, money order and wire transfer. All international purchases must be by bank wire transfer only. A 25% non-refundable deposit will hold an item for 30 days, other layaway terms considered. Layaway sales are final, no returns, 24 hour approval period is forfeited.
