In the late 1980's, PRS called on Ted McCarty to consult with him on guitar design and production techniques. He not only served as a mentor but became a great friend of Paul and everyone he met at PRS. After the release of the original McCarty model, PRS perfected the design tenfold, eventually bringing us to the fantastic Paul Reed Smith McCarty 594 10-Top — the versatile, vintage-inspired modern-version of the instrument that redefined PRS guitars.
Masterfully-built in America, this guitar is crafted with a stunning carved figured maple top on a mahogany solidbody, all decorated in a flaming Fire Red finish with a set of nickel hardware. The thick Pattern Vintage mahogany neck matches the slightly thicker back, enhancing the tone and giving the guitar more sustain. On top is a perfect rosewood fingerboard adorned with classic PRS bird inlays for a stellar aesthetic.
Whether you're looking for rich, authentic humbucking tones or nuanced, sweet single-coil sounds, the McCarty 594 can seamlessly master both sonic territories thanks to its 58/15 LT pickups, which have now been through the TCI (tuned capacitance and inductance) process, and dual volume and push/pull controls. A zinc two-piece bridge and vintage-style tuners anchor this guitar and stay true to the promise of the McCarty family.
