2014 PRS Paul's Guitar Autumn Sky
This guitar was ordered by our PRS staff in 2013.
The top of the flamed maple top is Private Stock grade! This is the highest grade that exceeds 10 tops. The color is Autumn Sky, a delicate color with a light orange gradation. The top quality wood grain and delicate color are PRS's specialty.
The fretboard is made of Cataloque. This is a material rarely heard of, but it is known as a sturdy material used for knife grips and the like. The smooth, moderately oily wood is ideal for fingerboards, but it is very hard and splits easily, so it requires high woodworking skills. This is a product made possible only by PRS's superior woodworking techniques.
The neck material is also carefully selected to match the cataloque fingerboard. This is a wood called Chipo. At first glance, it looks a lot like mahogany, but that's because it is. It is said to be close to Cuban mahogany, which used to be known as a high quality wood, not African mahogany, which is commonly distributed today. Although it takes longer to dry, it is less prone to distortion after drying, and its durability is higher than that of African mahogany. This property clearly makes it an excellent neck material.

There are some white spots on the sides, back, and horns of the body.
About 80% frets remaining. Low position frets are a little worn.
