As grand as can be, the absolutely stunning Custom Shop-model Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged was built in 2022, but features all of the beauty and master-craftsmanship that let it stand out in the late fifties. Masterfully-built in America, this striking Les Paul features a gorgeous Factory Burst nitro lacquer wearing a Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish, paired with lightly aged hardware for a look of an instrument that has seen years on the road.
The 1959 Les Paul Standard is built from a two-piece figured maple top situated on top of a one-piece mahogany solidbody, boasting ultra resonance with excelled comfort. The '50s rounded C-profile mahogany neck brings excellent playability, home to an Indian rosewood fingerboard and twenty-two medium jumbo frets. The dual Custombucker Alnico 3 unpotted pickups roar with vintage delight — shaped using the dual volumes, dual tones and the three-way toggle switch.
This guitar is in Excellent condition, as there are no particular issues to be specifically noticed, although the Murphy Lab aging simulates a look of authenticity with natural play-wear and a ton of body checking. There is an estimated 95% of fret life remaining.
