Here we have a great little Pedal Steel Guitar made by Sho-Bud circa 1970. This guitar is a perfect entry point for anyone who wants to learn to play Pedal Steel or is Jonesing to add some Steel Guitar flavor in their band. Alt Country anyone? This unit is compact and easily transportable.
Single neck with 10 strings. Great sounding original single-coil pickup. This particular Maverick model has three pedals and no knee levers, so it’s very simple to operate but still delivers some classic Steel Guitar sounds. Made in the U.S.A. probably in the early 70s but there’s no serial number and we can’t date it to a specific year.
The neck has the classic playing card fret markers (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) in vibrant red and white. Cool Art Deco aluminum headstock with original tuning keys. The body of this Maverick is solid Maple and has some birds-eye figure in it. The overall condition of this guitar is very good with a bit of play wear and aging of metal parts, but nothing that detracts from the appearance or functionality of the guitar.
Comes with its original hardshell case for easy transport and protection. We don’t often have Pedal Steel Guitars in our shop, but this one has totally won us over.
