1948 Slingerland Radio King Snare 14" X 6.5" Blue w/ Silver Center, Excellent, Original Hard
SOLD-5/14/2020--This Slingerland Radio King 14" X 6.5" Snare Drum came to me with the original natural skin heads still on and quite dried out, and heads had affected lacquer in area of head contact and overlap next to throw off. See pictures of worst area. Rest not bad. Head and rim cover most of this affected area, so the snare looks just a bit worn and vintage. My Drum shop re-glued inner ring braces and replaced rim shims as needed. (Tight as a drum now. Ha ha.) Head mating surfaces untouched and perfect condition. All nickel hardware shows some aging, patina, and a little oxidation. All threaded surfaces in excellent condition. Heads mount clean and all threads of tension rods and lugs in excellent condition. I lightly oiled them and they all pull smoothly with even tension. I mounted new REMO Diplomat Fibreskyn Batter head for a vintage look, and a new REMO Ambassador Hazy Snare Side head so you can see into the drum. Original Snare Butt and Strainer and Throw Off all in excellent working condition. I replaced 4 missing screws with old style slot head screws. 2 on the butt mount bracket, and 2 on the strainer bracket. Vintage 20 strand snares sound great. No hardware missing, and 98% original. Original mufflers intact and work perfectly, felt pads look like they weren't used. Cool snare. Comes with correct vintage fibre hard case in ex condition.
