Steve Hague '59 (2021) Dirty Green Lemonburst

This is a 2021 Steve Hague BaB-aged guitar. It's aged nicely too. Not only does it look great, but it plays even better. I adore this guitar. It has a vintage vibe, and the playability is fantastic. It sounds incredible with massive sustain. Steve aged the guitar to feel worn and played in, which makes it more comfortable to play, IMO. The neck is on the medium-big side of the 59 spectrum. The binding is nicely rounded, as though it has been played on for years. Currently, it has Wizz Premium PAFs (with covers), area59 pickup rings, a59 poker chip, a59 truss road cover, a59 brass saddles, and a59 pickguard. It also has Hague‘s in-house knobs, a Faber bridge with a59 brass saddles, a Faber tailpiece, and NOS Bee & Black Beauty capacitors with 500k CTS pots. It was built using vintage materials and to vintage specifications, this includes a dark chocolate Brazilian board. Dark Brazilian is getting harder and harder to come by, and due to this, I was charged a premium for the board as well as an ultra-light slab of Honduran mahogany. It is a featherweight at 8.25 lbs. Gator Flight Case and COA included. You can slap a pair of 10s on here, and they will feel like 9s, that’s how easy it is to play. The frets have been leveled, and it was set up with low action. Nice checking is occurring on the top and back. As stated, this guitar is medium-aged. The color is still rich, as it's been cased or covered while out of its case. The finishes used typically fade quickly, so you need to watch out for that.

If you know anything, then you know these are no longer being made to order, and picking and choosing finishes is a thing of the past. The dirty green lemon finish is beautiful. I can say confidently that I've owned several over the years, and this one is by far the best most comfortable playing one I have owned. I just recieved a new Hague, making this one the next guitar on the chopping block from my collection. While I finish my doctorate, I need to sell and get some cash for some classes, and with three other replicas, this one gets the least playtime. I love this guitar, and maybe one day I’ll be able to own it again, but it’s time to move it on to the next lucky owner.
