1959 Supro 1507 Red

Summary: This is a rare 1959 Supro Model 1507 short scale electric guitar with lots of mojo. This vintage guitar has been refinished but it still has the original pickup, tuning keys, serial # back-plate on the back of the headstock. This baby ships in a very cool old school 2-tone chipboard case & we will package it well & ship it fully insured through Reverb.com.

Body: Solid body single cutaway electric guitar – the body is about 16.5” long and the lower bout is 12” wide. The body width is about 1 9/16”.

Neck: Maple neck with 1 5/8" wide nut, 12" radius, and rosewood fretboard and pearloid dot inlays. The scale length is 22.25”. This instrument has the original Kluson Deluxe tuning keys.

Pickups/Hardware: Single coil pickup, volume knob, tone knob, Kluson Deluxe tuning keys, aged brass hardware, bright switch.

Cosmetics: This Supro shows a lot of wear consistent with a guitar from the late 1950’s – there are nicks & dings on the body, wear on the headstock with the black overspray wearing off. The pickup cover & the bridge are both pitting & show lots of wear. The frets still have some life left in them but they do show some wear.

Playability: We set this baby up with a new set of 10’s and it plays pretty good – the action is low & the big beefy neck feels very comfortable.

Modifications: This guitar has likely been refinished in red & the headstock logo is missing. We can’t find a reference to this model being available in red but it is similar to other period Supro red finishes we have seen. There are also some pickguard screws that have been replaced.
