Taylor’s maple/spruce Grand Auditorium 614ce has alway’s been a staple at Replay Guitar Exchange, and this edition features many tone-enhancing refinements that transform the guitar's maple tone into a richer, warmer and more complex voice. Left-handed guitarists can expect a dynamic and expressive instrument. The maple-specific back bracing profile and a special “roasting” of the spruce top called torrefaction, produces an aged tonal character with greater acoustic resonance and responsiveness. The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines, while the Grand Auditorium shape embodies the ultimate all-purpose acoustic. The use of protein glues optimize the tonal transfer between wood components while a thin gloss finish minimizes dampening. The hand-rubbed stain on the back and sides gives the maple’s striking figure a beautiful violin-like appearance, complimented by gold hardware, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, an ebony/ivoroid rosette, and a striped ebony pickguard.
