Here's a 2002 Taylor Liberty Tree Grand Concert. Mint, 1 owner guitar. No breaks, cracks, repairs. This is #369/400. Story and spec's below!
This guitar was made from the last living Liberty Tree, a Tulip Poplar from revolutionary times residing in Annapolis, Maryland, that was toppled in 1999 by Hurricane Floyd. Each of the 13 colonies had a Liberty Tree that served as a meeting point where colonists gathered to plan the rebellion against the British. Taylor Guitars later purchased the tree and was able to make a total of 400 of these guitars, which are highly collectible. The Tulip Poplar wood on the back and sides is beautifully figured. This guitar has a rich sound and plays very well. It has gold Grover tuners with black hardwood buttons. The border of the body is bound with abalone (mother of pearl) inlay and the front of the guitar has an amazing inlay of a colonial flag. The head stock has an inlay of a wind furled revolutionary flag. The neck and body have a detailed inlay of the US Constitution. Thirteen stars representing the founding colonies, surround the sound hole. This is a magnificent example of high luthier art. Stated on the label inside the guitar is serial number 20020423117 and that this is guitar number 369. The label is signed by Robert Taylor. It comes with the original high quality five latch case.
