Reissue model of Fender's famous BASS VI!
Fender released the BASS VI in 1961 (BassBASS VI)
It has a short scale of 30 inches and tuned one octave below an electric guitar. It was equipped with a Jaguar and Jazzmaster type tremolo, and was intended to be used like a baritone guitar.
It has been used by George Harrison and John Lennon of The Beatles, Jack Bruce of Cream, and other famous players.
The original BASS VI was produced from 1961 to 1975. Around 1963, it became a four-switch version with a Jaguar-style PU and an additional low-cut switch. The bridge was also a Jaguar type spiral type until 1964, and changed to a mustang type bridge in 1965.
This Fender Japan BASS VI was made in 1991~1992, and was sold under the Custom Edition, a high-grade line at that time. It is equipped with a Jaguar style PU and a mustang type bridge.
It has the tension characteristic of a short scale, and the low register can also be fully sounded.
