What’s not to like about this 1960s Teisco Shark Fin guitar? In the 1960s there were many cool Japanese guitars all made to look wild and futuristic. And after many decades, remarkably, these guitars still look wild and futuristic. Teisco was one of the main Japanese labels and they seemed to have an unending imagination for modern design.
It’s been said that less is more, but in some cases, more is more. This 1960s Teisco ET-230 Shark Fin guitar has more. More cool. More style. More pizzazz. It’s in excellent vintage condition with just a few dings and light playing wear, overall this guitar is looking swell. The metallic blue color is very close to Fender’s Lake Placid Blue. It’s really gorgeous.
The guitar is all original and everything functions except for the mute. We’ve set it up and it’s a playable guitar in its current condition. There is some fret buzzing, however, which a set up couldn’t cure. Still, it’s a sweet vintage guitar and well worth investing a bit of TLC to get it fully back up to snuff.
