This Partscaster was painstakingly aged by our friend, Bruce Harvie, who operates Orcas Island Tonewoods in Washington state.
Bruce is a great player and someone who has spent his lifetime chasing tone, starting with the knowledge of great woods. He is not only a guitar nut - we also find kinship in our love for great amps. Reeling through guitar stories with him reveals the amazing instruments that have passed through his hands over the years.
Thus, Bruce assembled this guitar, and he has found a killer Danny Hines ash body to couple to the fat Allparts neck. He settled on a set of Peter Florance VooDoo Broadcaster pickups, which top my favorite list. The pickups sell for around $700 per set, if you can find them out there. They're among the best.
I think it is natural for an expert in woods for lutherie whom is also a vintage guitar enthusiast to dig into finishes and ageing. Bruce did a hall of a job on this guitar, right down to the pickguard.
The guitar weighs 7 pounds, four ounces -a perfect overall weight. It is quite resonant. The neck is chunky with wear on the back that is both the product of Bruce's relic work and years of his play on the guitar. The back of the neck feels perfect.
You'll find that this axe shines when compared to custom shop instruments you see here and everywhere. Its a winner.

Select Standard shipping at checkout and your item will be shipped via UPS three-day-air. Select Economy shipping and your item will ship via UPS ground. For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for these Eastern states and shipment will be made by UPS three-day-air. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.
