The legendary bassist John Entwistle of The Who and Hans Peter Wilfer, founder of Warwick, created the Buzzard.
Buzzard means "bird of prey," and as the name implies, it leaves a strong impression with its ferocious looks.
In 1985, Hans Peter Wilfer received a special order from John Entwistle to create a special Buzzard for his own playing.BassThey discussed John's ideas, realized them, and sketched out the design.
This model, the most unique of Warwick's many models, was introduced in 1985 and discontinued in 1995.
It was reissued in 2003, two years after John Entwistle's death, and has become a symbol of John Entwistle.BassIt is still popular as a symbol of John Entwistle.
This model is the original made in 1986.
The spec sheet is not included, so we can only speculate, but we think the body is made of Zebrawood. The fingerboard is made of wenge.
The inlays are not Arabic numerals, and may have been made to order.
The headstock is a large type before being downsized. The bridge is Warwick original separate bridge.
The pickups are EMG P-type pickups combined in the positive and inverted positions, and the arrangement makes the contour of bass strings clear.
Controls are Vol/Bal/2Band EQ (stacked).
The looks have a big impact. The headstock design was later revised and the body balance is understandably smaller, but the electricBassThis is one that has a unique presence in the history of electric guitars!
