Description

Here we have a super cool 1930s Washburn 5241 jumbo acoustic guitar. As you notice the guitar has been converted. The conversion consists of the original top being re-braced with a forward shifted brace pattern. X-brace is 1/4 scalloped thickness along with tone bars and side supports with appropriate head brace and popsicle and small maple bridge plate. The guitar has been completely refinished due to a poor finish prior to me receiving this instrument. The instrument was refinished with nitrocellulose lacquer that has been aged to match the guitar appropriately along with a lacquered in celluloid tortoise Pic Gard . The guitar still does obtain its original tuners, along with fingerboard and back interior, bracing head block and tail block. The guitar still does a paint its original paper label inside that has gotten torn and various spots over the years. The guitar has also been re-fretted along with a replacement Brazilian rosewood bridge bone saddle and nut. This guitar is Gibson made and definitely an unbelievable instrument. Same guitar as the Ray Whitley recording king just different headstock. The guitar does have lots of little nicks chips, dings dents, and superficial blemishes all over it as you will notice from the photos that I have provided. The guitar comes with a aftermarket case please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.
