YAMAHA" entered a new era with the debut of Terry Nakamoto in 1971.
In the same year that the FG became popular, YAMAHA introduced a lineup of "high-end handmade FGs".
Three models, the FG-1500/FG-2000/FG-2500 (12-string), were released to the world, and as a result, YAMAHA Acoustic became known throughout the world.

The model introduced here is the FG-2000 manufactured in 1971.
It has the original jumbo body of 416mm in width and 127mm in thickness, and the rosette and trim are decorated with a very technical technique called "wood inlaying," which is composed of different types of wood.
The top wood is high-grade Ezo pine, the side backs are made of veneer Hakaranda, and in common with the handmade FG series, the center of the body back is made of maple, giving it a gorgeous look.
The pickguard has been removed and the pegs have been replaced by the previous owner.
With the pickguard removed, the inlaid decoration stands out and gives the instrument a craft-like appearance.
The Grover pegs are more stable and easier to operate than the factory pegs, which is also a good modification.

The sound is thick and responsive, making you want to play for hours.
The sound is very impressive with a solid low end that is typical of Hakaranda and the tightening effect of the maple in the center of the body, and the lows are not blurred, but come out with a well-defined sound image.
The brightness is also felt, but it is never harsh, and you can feel the high mid that has withered firmly with age.

Because of the changes, this is not a collectible, but we would like players to experience this first-class sound.
This is the best acoustic guitar that shows the craftsmanship of YAMAHA and Terry Nakamoto.

[Playing Condition]
Neck and wood condition has been inspected and adjusted by a professional acoustic guitar craftsman, and all parts are in good condition.
The neck has been straightened and tuned with no chatter or jamming, and the string height at the 12th fret is set at 2.6mm on the 6th string side and 2mm on the 1st string side, in comfortable playing condition.
The saddle protrusion is approximately 3mm-2.5mm.

There are no major noticeable cracks and the guitar is in clean condition considering its age.
