Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins chose the handcrafted Yamaha LJ16 as the foundation for his acoustic signature model, the limited to 50 Yamaha LJ16BC, finished here in a striking brown sunburst. The LJ shape is the Yamaha version of a medium-jumbo, and is often referred to as the players' choice for its wide dynamic range, strong low-end presence and crisp tone. Every L Series features an A.R.E. acoustic resonance enhancement solid Engelmann spruce top, for a particularly warm sound. At Billy’s request a slight emphasis on the upper-mid harmonic frequencies and a bit more detailing in the low-mid range to complement his playing style were designed in to the guitar. Other personalized touches are brass bridge pins, TUSQ nut and saddle, GOTOH open-gear tuners and a unique “Zero” head stock logo.
