Vintage c1966 Harmony H420 Tube Amplifier serial number 1-66837.
This amp is in very good condition, fully functional, we replaced some of the caps that needed attention the rest of the circuitry and speaker appear to be original.
Cosmetically showing some marks and minor wear on the tolex covering, some grille wear and light tarnishing on the brightwork. Overall, presents well especially considering its age.
Includes the original Jensen C15 PS 15" Special Design Musical Instrument speaker. The speaker was made in 1966 and marked 220607, 550 15S C15 PS C7747-3.
Featuring two 1/4" inputs marked Guitar or Bass and one 1/4" input marked Accordion or Microphone. Volume control, bass and treble controls, fuse holder red power indicator lamp and a reversible polarity power switch.
The Harmony H420 is said to be produced in the same Valco factory as the Supro Thunderbolt and marketed by Harmony to pair with their guitar line. The H420 is extremely similar in terms of circuit and layout to its more famous Supro cousin.
The H420 pushes about 35 watts through a pair of 6L6 power tubes and sounds great on everything from clean, warm rhythm tones to tube overdrive when dialed up. This Harmony delivers a pure sweet tone.
The cabinet construction is finger jointed pine just like the Valcos with a plywood speaker baffle. The chassis is mounted in the rear 'tweed style.' We believe that at least one of the transformers, the T3778 part number is also used on the S6420 Thunderbolt.
The H420 is a great workingman's amp for a fraction of the price of a Supro Thunderbolt!

“We test every used amp and pedal when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. Then we burn it in for an hour or so before we ship so that there are no surprises.”
*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
