1950 Fender Broadcaster Butterscotch
From my personal collection; I personally bought this amazing artifact from the original owner way back in 1989, and it was rarely played ever since. It’s 100% original and has some very early and unique features beginning with the neck. First of all, it’s got an October neck date; the majority of Broadcasters were made in November & December of 1950, so this one is among the earliest production models, the low serial number and all slotted screws including truss rod corroborates that. The 2nd unique feature is the neck shape…it’s massive, with a very distinct V profile and ‘shoulders’ by the side dots. In other words, the widest part of the neck is not the fretboard, but just below at the level of the side dots, basically the profile of a diamond. My guess is people liked to wrap their thumb over the top in those days, and this profile makes it more comfortable. The guitar is clean overall, but it shows a fair amount of finish checking and some flaking…plus the body is heavy AF, just under 10 pounds! But it sounds amazing and it’s fun to play, unlike any other I’ve ever seen. Comes complete with its original brown thermometer case with accessories such as ashtray, strap, cord, and case key.

All guitars are shipped and insured at customer`s expense via Fedex. Customer assumes responsibility for any insurance claims.
