Whitinsville, MA (September 3, 2024) – Back and better than ever, the celebrated Bergantino Forté HP series of bass amplification has returned with its third iteration, the Forté HP2X. Compact and lightweight, the addition of an expertly designed output transformer gives bass players a nice dynamic and present response in the lower registers, resulting in a more harmonically rich and fat sound!
It's no secret that since the beginning of amplification, transformers were, and still are to this day, credited with what is often associated with that "Tube" sound. In fact, in many audio circles, transformers are often given much of the credit for those harmonically rich tones bass players so revere!
“In order to best employ a transformer into our current forte’ HP2 design, we worked very closely with the engineers at Cinemag, a highly respected company and large player in the transformer industry. Carefully choosing features such as core material, winding ratios, impedance, inductance, and other tone-enhancing parameters, we were able to come up with a transformer design that uniquely and perfectly fit into the current architecture and circuit topology of our HP2, allowing us to give our new HP2X many of the tonal qualities these transformers have been lauded and sought after for, over decades of use in the musical amplification industry,” states Jim Bergantino, Founder and President of Bergantino Audio.
The Bergantino Forté HP2X is a power-packed, highly customizable, modern marvel of Class D bass amplification created with the gigging bassist in mind. The Forté HP2X allows players to dial in their ideal tone with meticulous precision given the easy-to-use controls on the face of the unit including a 4- band EQ, Variable lowpass (Vlpf) and highpass (Vhpf) filters, Gain, Drive, Punch, Bright, and Mute. Additionally, you can enable the use of an optional rechargeable Bluetooth footswitch that controls the onboard Drives, Punch and Bright filters, and Mute functions, from up to 30 feet away. You can also update the HP2X’s firmware via the front-panel USB port.
