1997 Gibson Yamano Custom Shop Les Paul Standard Heritage Cherry Sunburst w/OHSC & Paperwork, YCS, All Original, CLEAN, RARE, 9.25lbs

Available for acquisition is an exceptionally clean and incredibly rare 1997 Gibson Yamano Custom Shop Les Paul Standard. Completely original, this guitar boasts a stunning Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish and comes complete with its original "Custom Art & Historic" shaped case featuring rouge velvet lining, along with accompanying paperwork.

Gibson's Custom Shop is widely acclaimed for its historical reproductions, but this particular model distinguishes itself. Released for a brief period in 1997 and produced in highly restricted quantities, our Les Paul was part of an exclusive run for Japan's Yamano music store. In collaboration with Gibson's Custom Shop, these were a contemporary interpretation of the Les Paul Standard, integrating the superior build quality and premium woods typically reserved for the Custom Shop.

Crafted from exquisite select woods, our YCS Les Paul showcases a single-piece mahogany body, a solid maple cap, and a sturdy mahogany neck complemented by a visually striking rosewood fretboard. Additionally, the guitar is equipped with a set of standard nickel Grover Rotomatic tuners and houses a pair of renowned '57 Classic PAF Humbuckers. Featuring a slightly inclined slim-taper profile, the neck retains a rounded and substantial feel, distinct from the slimmer-tapered alternatives. The neck measurements are as follows: Nut Width at 1.70 inches, 1st Fret at 0.82 inches, and 12th Fret at 0.99 inches.

From our perspective, this Les Paul stands out as one of the finest we've ever handled. Its aesthetic appeal, playability, and exceptional sound are truly an immersive experience. To add to its allure, the guitar is perfectly balanced and weighs in at 9.25lbs.

Regarding its condition, there's little to note here. This guitar seems to have spent most of its 27 years carefully stored away, and given its age, it approaches near-mint status. There are occasional faint surface scratches and a minor dent on the lower rear boot of the body. Apart from these, finding a guitar of this rarity and in such well-preserved condition would be a task! The all-stock nickel hardware has acquired a beautiful patina over time, and the original onboard electronics function seamlessly as intended. What's truly remarkable is that the guitar feels as fresh and responsive as the day it was originally crafted for play. All 22 frets exhibit minimal signs of player wear, attesting to the impeccable condition and care this instrument has received throughout its life.

It’s been expertly setup by Ben of Beej Guitar Repairs with a fresh set of 10-46 strings.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and thanks for looking!
