Among Gibson's top models, the flattop L-2 came in several versions. Due to the success of their arch top jazz boxes they started with a floating bridge and tailpiece, resulting in a very loud and penetrating guitar. When they switched to the pin bridge, the result was a truly superlative tone. The other variation: from 12 frets, then 13 frets and finally 14 frets, again to accomodate the new swing players. Converting the tailpiece version to the pin bridge is a common improvement, and this was done recently by our repair department. There are a couple repaired cracks, one along the fretboard extention, a hairline in the top below the bridge and one in the back, all cleated. Gibson used rosewood only on rare higher end models, and they have a unique and wonderful tone, deeper and richer in general; it's so difficult to describe tone so you'll just have to come and play this incredible guitar.

Our "Cash price" policy: unfortunately, the credit card companies support "swiped" charges in which the card is physically run through the card reader. Phone-in charges are charged at a much higher rate (to the seller) which can take quite a big chunk out of a high-dollar sale. Thus, for those call-in sales, let's discuss the issue at the time; hopefully, we can figure some way to deal with it.
