Finish Details: The back of the neck has been refinished from the headstock down to the middle of the body; the refinished areas are slightly more yellowed than the original finish. The remainder of the finish on the back, as well as all of the finish on the front of the guitar, is original.

Neck Details: Set-in mahogany neck with unbound ebony fretboard, block inlays, and headstock truss rod adjustment. There is a crack at the heel which has been repaired. The neck has also been refretted, and the nut is not original. The fingerboard radius appears to have been rounded further during the refret, and the edges are slightly rolled.
Electronics: The neck and bridge pickups and wiring harness are original, with "patent applied for" stickers, although the covers on both have been removed and resoldered. The bridge pickup appears to have been modified to be in phase with the non-original middle pickup, which is a modern Gibson USA humbucker. Some solder joints in the harness have been touched up, and the bridge ground wire has been replaced. The controls include 3-way toggle switch (middle position is middle + bridge pickups), and neck/bridge pickup volume and tone controls. The pot codes date to 1960.

Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has aged nicely; the finish has yellowed with the refinished areas on the back yellowed further. The body has assorted small chips, dings, and patches of wear, and the back has moderate wear which was finished over. The gold hardware has aged and the plating has flaked off in many spots. The repaired heel break is visible, and the back of the neck has moderate checking.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with moderately low action, and is currently set up with 10s. The frets are narrow and fairly low with minor wear. The pot codes date to 1960, and the serial number dates to 1962.

We give you 3 days from the shipping date on Vintage instruments, and 15 days on New instruments. Credit card returns are issued a credit for purchase price. Refunds are made for product value only, excluding shipping and handling charges. New, Unopened items: You may return most NEW, untouched, unopened items within 15 days of delivery for a full refund. if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) we'll also pay the return shipping costs.
